Hi, my name Sami, I am a birth doula on Kodiak Island in Alaska.
Here are some fun bits about me to help you get to know me better! I am a wife of five years to my wonderful husband, Tyler. Mobile was our first station as a Coast Guard couple, and we were there for four years. Now we live in Kodiak, Alaska. My favorite fun fact about myself is that I'm part of a set of triple girls! We have an older brother, as well. Some of my favorite things include my faith, reading, knitting, embroidery, birth and natural health. You can read more about me and my mission on the "about" page. I'm so glad you're here!
My Goal
As a birth doula, it's my intention to help you achieve the birth of your dreams! All women should feel empowered and respected while giving birth.
My Values
I believe that birth is a divinely created system that rarely needs intervention. I offer a holistic and physiological approach to pregnancy, birth and pain management during labor. I believe that a laboring woman's needs should be accommodated whenever possible, from standing laboring positions to use of pain medication or not, the birth should closely resemble the woman's desires. Informed consent is of the utmost importance to me. Birth is a natural and normal occurrence, not something to fear. Women were created to give birth!
